Pattern Fitting Course using the Palmer Pletsch method
Ever had a fit disaster? Come along to this two-part course and learn how to fit your commercial patterns using the Palmer Pletsch tissue-fitting method. Result – no more sewing frustrations and disappointments!
Did you know that commercial sewing patterns are designed for a ‘B’ cup bust? If you are fuller than that in the bust, making up the pattern straight from the envelope is a recipe for disappointment.
This course shows you the best way to measure yourself and how to choose your correct pattern size then how to make a full bust adjustment (FBA).
Our Pattern Fitting course, consisting of two one-day workshops, is based on the tried and tested Palmer/Pletsch method. There is a maximum of 3 people per class, so you can be sure of plenty of personal attention and guidance.
Course structure – part one
Get fitted in the great new McCall’s fitting pattern M7279 and learn how to recognise your fit issues.
Learn and practice how to make fit adjustments for your unique shape, such as a full bust adjustment (FBA) or forward shoulder.
Course structure – part two
Bring along your favourite fashion patterns and put your skills from part one into practice.
Princess seam styles are really flattering for all figure shapes, more so if you are full-busted. Whether shoulder and armhole styles, an FBA ensures a perfect fit.
We also look at how to fit and alter sleeves for full or slim upper arms.

Part two – 10.30am – 3pm
All alteration equipment provided. Please bring along something for your lunch
